Pleasant Lake Residents-Vegetation Treatment Planned for Wednesday June 12, weather permitting

PLPOA aquatic plant spotters, Kieser Associates experts and Washtenaw County managers have confirmed large clumps of hybrid milfoil, starry stonewort and other vegetation sprouting in the lake. Left unchecked, these aggressive, native and non-native plants form thick mats that block sunlight that kills native plants which fish and other wildlife rely on, and interferes with fishing, swimming and boating. PLPOA understands that June 11th has been scheduled to treat the lake for milfoil and other invasive water plants; prior to treatment, the vendor will place along the shore, brightly colored signs confirming the date and providing other treatment details.

Please stay off the lake for 48 hours to ensure the best possible treatment outcome.

If you have questions about the renewal of the Pleasant Lake Special Assessment District (SAD), which has already been approved by the Freedom Township Board, attend the June 12, 2024 7PM meeting at the County office at 705 N. Zeeb Rd, Ann Arbor. Contact: Theo Eggermont, Dir. Public Works-eggermontt@washtenaw.org
